Essential Oil - Wormwood

(Artemisia absinthium)

perfumery use only

Wormwood is the main ingredient in the famed 'Green Faerie' absinthe liqueur that is outlawed for import into the U.S. due to its halucinogenic effects from high thujone levels. This oil has a long history of herbal use, but is not considered practical for aromatherapy due to containing some compounds which are considered to have a low therapeutic margin. The distilled oil is concentrated and should be used with care.
