Balsam Peru oil is known for its vanilla-like notes and offers a completely unique aroma. It is only used externally in aromatherapy, either through diffusion for respiratory disorders such as asthma, chronic coughs and bronchitis... or it can also be used topically in dilution for rheumatic pain and skin problems including rashes and eczema. It is used heavily in the perfume industry because of its unique aroma.

Characteristics:
The oil is a pale amber or brown viscous liquid with a rich, sweet, balsamic, vanilla-like scent. It blends well with ylang-ylang, patchouli, sandalwood, rose, spices, floral and oriental bases.
